Burghclere Primary School
Learning, growing and succeeding together
Y6 Pupil Leaders
Our Year 6 pupils take on a variety of leadership roles during the year. They have to apply for these roles in Year 5 and are then interviewed by the previous Head Pupils and a member of the governing body. They are then offered one of the roles. They always carry out their responsibilities with pride.
The Leadership Roles
School Council
We have a very active School Council. The members of the School Council are elected by the pupils within the school. There are two representatives from Years 1-6.
Members of the School Council are elected on an annual basis. Officers are elected by the School Council members. The School Council will meet at least half termly. Mrs Letchford will be present at School Council meetings. Others may attend by invitation of the School Council.
Green Group
Our Green Group are responsible for environmental issues around the school. Our Eco code is

Naturally
Green group are currently encouraging us to reduce waste and have put signs around the school to remind us. They have been researching the current climate crisis and have held an assembly for the rest of the school, sharing what they have discovered to highlight awareness.
Anti-Bullying Ambassadors
Our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors were trained by the Diana Award Anti-Bullying programme. They meet regularly and support pupils across the school. Initiatives they have introduced include a kindness box and anti-bullying display with helpful advice on. They also run regular assemblies promoting the message that bullying behaviour is not accepted at Burghclere Primary School.
JRSO's
Our Junior Road Safety Officers are trained by the road safety officers in Hampshire. They promote road safety to all our children through assemblies, competitions and a noticeboard.
