Oak Year 1/2

Welcome to Oak Class

Teacher: Mrs Barraclough

LSA: Mrs Fulcher & Miss Langthorne

spring 1

Our PE days are Monday and Wednesday.

We aim to read with your child regularly throughout the week so please ensure their home reading book and reading record are in school everyday.  We change our library books on Fridays.  Spellings are tested weekly on Fridays and are based on the phonemes and spelling strategies taught at school in the previous week.

Our Topic this term is Travel and Transport.

We had an exciting trip to Milestones Museum as our topic hook; we will found out about travel and transport in the past and compared the museum's vehicle collections with the vehicles of today.  Please find a few of our photographs of our trip below.

We will be designing and making our own vehicles as part of our topic so please save a variety of cereal boxes for us to use.

For our outcome this term we will create an Oak Class Motor Museum and display photographs of our models on this page and on our Google classroom from the week beginning 14th February.

We are learning about the School Value of Aspiration.

Anthony the Aspiring Antelope

We dream big.

We set challenging targets for ourselves.

We are motivated to achieve our goals.

We strive to be the best versions of ourselves.

Please let me know if you see your child showing our school values, especially Aspiration, outside of school and we can celebrate this in our assembly.
