Welcome to Oak Class!
Teachers: Mrs Barraclough and Mrs Maynard
Teaching Assistant: Mrs Rose
Autumn Term 2 2019
We are finding out how to stay happy and healthy this half term and have been encouraged to stay physically fit with some exercise classes from an experienced yoga and pilates teacher. We will be formulating some questions to ask a real doctor who will be tasked with answering our questions and showing us some of the items that can be found in a doctors bag!
In English we are learning the story of Handa's Surprise and have adapted the story by changing the characters and items that are taken on a journey.
Our main focus for our maths lessons is to develop our understanding of money and shape, both 2-D and 3-D.
This half term we are learning the songs and lines to our Christmas Nativity - Prickly Hay.
The children have now all chosen a library book and we change library books every Monday. Home readers can be changed by the children as often as they wish and we encourage them to take responsibility for choosing their reading books in the book area outside of our classroom. The children need their PE kits in school every day although our regular PE days are Monday and Friday.
We operate an open door policy and are happy to talk with you at the beginning or end of the school day - if a more formal discussion is needed then an appointment can be made with the office.
