Reading
We have a wide variety of reading books in our reading scheme including the Oxford Reading Tree scheme. Every child in KS1 has a book from the reading scheme and in Year R and Year 1 we aim to link these to the learning they are doing in phonics. In KS2 children progress through the scheme to fiction books from the library. Every child in the school has a library book two which they have an opportunity to change every two weeks.
Phonics
Phonics is taught to children in Year R and Year 1. Our phonics curriculum is based on 'Little Wandle revised Letters and Sounds'.
