Partnership with Parents

We aim to work in partnership with parents to ensure the best possible home/school support for all pupils and to create an environment in which parents and members of the community are actively encouraged to be involved in the daily life and long term development of the school.  In support of this there is a formal home/ school agreement which you and your child will be asked to sign.

We actively seek and listen to the views of children and their families and carers.

Home School Liaison

Parents and carers are always welcome to come into school and meet with teachers at a mutually convenient time. Teachers will report children’s progress throughout the year in a number of ways, including parents evenings and an annual written report.

There are many opportunities throughout the year to share in some of the exciting events that have gone on in school. You will be invited to Share and Celebrate sessions each term, sharing assemblies and outcome events throughout the year, as well as other special events.

We love to have parents/carers and friends support the work we do in school and welcome any help offered. Please let us know if you have any skills that you could share with us, or whether you would be prepared to come in and listen to readers and help children with their number bonds and times tables.

Parent Liaison Group

This group consists of a representative parent from each class, a governor and a member of school staff. The group meets each term and parents feedback on things that are going well and things that could be improved.

Newsletters

Every week the School issues a newsletter that is e-mailed.  This contains information and dates of events happening in school. A copy of all letters sent home is stored in a file which is kept in Reception, so if you think that you may have missed a letter, please look through the file: an additional copy can always be provided.

Discussions with the Headteacher

The Headteacher is always willing to discuss any matters of concern with parents.  Please make an appointment through the school’s Administration Officer.  The Headteacher does have to attend meetings away from school and if at such time an urgent issue arises, please contact the Deputy Headteacher.

The Headteacher is also always available to see parents on Parent/Teacher consultation evenings.  An appointment is not necessary for these times.
