  • Falcon Class meet Prince Charles

    Fri 15 Dec 2017
Falcon class were invited to spend the day at Ramsbury Estates on Friday as part of a butterfly conservation project which they are involved in. This was the first visit of three throughout the year and included a special visit from HRH Prince Charles. The children learnt about the different crops the estate grows and how they are used. They then learnt about the Duke of Burgundy butterfly and its need for cowslips for it's survival. The children then made some plug pots and planted some cowslip seeds. Prince Charles talked to Mrs Field, Mrs Letchford and the children about what they were doing. The children also made some rock cakes with wheat flour and rapeseed oil produced by the estate and were taken on a tour of the beef cattle. It was a great day and the children learnt a lot about where their food comes from. They are looking forward to returning to the estate to plant their cowslip seedlings!
  • Ofsted Inspection

Our Ofsted Inspection Report is now available to view on our website. We are very pleased with the findings as they reflect the school's own self-evaluation. They also recognises all the hard work that has gone into further improving the school over the last 18 months by the staff and Governors. Thank you to all our parents and children who spoke so positively about the school. We look forward to building on this over the coming year and seeing our children achieve even greater things.

  • West Berkshire and North Hampshire Cross country event

    Sat 01 Apr 2017
23 children took part in this cross country event last Tuesday at Newbury Showground. The children all ran very well and we are really proud of their efforts. We had one top 50 finisher, Annie Canning, and ten top 100 finishers in their category. The event was huge and a great experience for all our runners who had this opportunity to compete against so many other athletes. Take a look at our twitter account for team pictures and follow this link http://www.newburytoday.co.uk/video/video-gallery/21038/west-berkshire-north-hants-primary-schools-cross-country-championships-2017.html to see video clips of the race starts!
