Autumn Term 2 2018
We have lots of exciting activities planned for this half term and will be getting ready for our Christmas performance of 'Gnome Alone'!
The children have already written some fantastic recounts about their adventures with Sunny the Meerkat and we have started to look at the picture book 'Meerkat Mail' where we will be learning about Meerkats, writing postcards and letters.
In mathematics we have already started to use our number bonds to count forwards and backwards in different ways and will be working on developing these skills over the coming weeks.
Our 'Where do we live?' topic this half term involves a walk around Burghclere in order for us to identify human and physical features in our village. You can support your child in developing their map skills by using language such as North, South, East and West, and by talking about your journey to school and friends houses.
The children will bring their reading records and books home to share with you and we encourage them to change these books in the library outside our classroom as often as they can. We are hearing the children read at school at various times throughout the school day and during guided reading sessions. Any opportunities to hear and encourage your child to read at school and at home are invaluable to their learning!
Our P.E. days are: Monday and Friday
Our Library Book changing day is: Monday
If you have any questions or queries about your child's learning please do not hesitate to speak to us!
