In August 2024, the Government issued new guidance around attendance to schools. The link to this is here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/working-together-to-improve-school-attendance This includes examples of letters we may send to parents if we are concerned about attendance, and a guidance for parents. 

We have rewritten our policy to reflect this guidance and have a leaflet explaining this to parents. Our policy is inline with that of other schools. We ask that all parents take holidays during the school holidays as requests will not be authorised, and will result in a penalty fine if over 10 sessions or longer. We expect that parents will be honest with us regarding any holidays they may be taking- children will always talk to their teachers and friends about any time they have had away!
